Our History
Higginsville has had a bowling alley since 1957!
The buildings were built in 1857, after a fire destroyed the original structures on that site. The two buildings at 2109 and 2111 Main Street have been many different businesses. The buildings have housed a hotel, a barber shop, a bar, a pool hall, a restaurant, a car dealership and a service station all before becoming a bowling alley in 1957.
During renovations, we found some open bowling score sheets dating 9/12/57 and leagues score sheets dated 9/4/57. They are over 50 years old, some of the names are of people still in Higginsville.
Keith and Janet Bredehoeft purchased the bowling alley and the adjacent building in January 2008. After extensive remodeling over the summer, the bowling alley and the adjacent LANESIDE GRILL was ready to open in August for bowling. We offer league play Sunday-Saturday, open play on Friday after league and weekends. We are setup for birthday parties, corporate parties, family get-together and can host about any event.
May 2009, new synthetic lanes and approaches were installed along with underground ball returns.
January 23rd, 2010 we were honored by the Higginsville Chamber with the "Business of the year". Thank you to all our hard working employees. We couldn't have done it without you.
